With this project, we want to celebrate responsible and efficient behavior and successful schoolwork during the epidemic in our school and throughout Slovenia and the most important, to celebrate that we are alive.
In the song “Gotta be patient”, we adapted some parts of the original text in English (staycation) and some in Slovene.
Although adjustments are still needed in everyday life, during and after the epidemic we learned to cooperate in different ways. Our relationships became different, we not only »entered each other’s homes« but also each other’s hearts. We were separated, but in fact we became even more connected. As Slovenia was the first in Europe to cancel the coronavirus epidemic and since the song will be published on YouTube on the last day of school, we emphasize in the song that every new day can shine if we just start it with a smile. We also want to encourage life optimism and emphasize that, regardless of the challenges of life, each of us carries a youthful joy inside.
With our project, we also want to express our support and solidarity with everyone, at home and around the world, who is still facing the challenges and consequences of the epidemic on a daily basis. With an abundance of positive vibes, we emphasize and encourage young people to continue to behave responsibly during the summer holidays and vacations. Last but not least, we definitely remain optimistic when planning educational and life guidelines and new projects.
None of our students is a professional musician/singer, therefore we give special thanks to STAY HOMAS for inspiration during quarantine time, Halley Records for supporting our school project and Michael Bublé/Barenaked Ladies/Sofia Reyes, for inspirational ideas in making our school video.
